Priority?

We received the following important e-mail at work today.

Confidential Communications:

When a Member or dependent calls or writes to COMPANY NAME and indicates their life is in danger, that becomes a "Confidential Communication". It is our responsiblity at this point to protect all the information we have on file for this individual(s).

During the call, you should ask that member to put the information in
writing via mail or fax to your attention.

Am I insane, or is this just ridiculous. I am sorry that your life is in danger, but could you please mail the information to me. Oh wait, he's there with a knife? Mmm Yeah, we still need this in writing. Perhaps tell him to put the knife sown for a moment then mail the info...
