What a day

My poor little Sophie had to go get her two month immunization shots today. She did not enjoy the needles at all. She screamed louder than I have ever heard her before. She got three shots and an oral vaccine. The oral one she did not mind, I am sure it tasted much better than the formula she lives on. The immunizations were for Hepatitis B, DTAP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis), Haemophilus Influenza B, and Prevnar (for Meningitis). I am not good at dealing with her being in pain, I cried as much as she did. She was so happy and smiling with the pediatrician, then they gave her the shots. It sucked. She was fine then for several hours, then she got fussy and cried really hard for about a half hour. She is taking infant Tylenol drops. It is grape flavored, she seems to like it too. She did do better than Simon, when Simon had his first shots, he pooped, peed, and vomited all at the same time, then he passed out. She has more than doubled her weight, she went from a tiny 6 pounds 6 ounces to a whopping 12 pounds 15 1/4 ounces. When we took her for her first visit, she was in the 8th percentile for her weight, now she is in the 75th percentile. Some day she will kill me for posting this picture on the Internet, but she loves her bath time, so whatever...

She was really good on the trip to and from South Carolina. She slept a lot and was a sleep for the New Year. We drove all the way home on New Years Eve. On the way down on Christmas day, we got a late start, so we only made it about half way. It was fun, she was popular, Chris's mom had a party so everyone could meet her. Well anyhow, hope every one had a wonderful New Years and will has a wonderful 2007!

Ava cried every time she saw her pediatrician until she turned 2. She connected him with the shots. It was so strange. Now she likes going to the doctor but still asks me if there will be shots.
